How we got to Philadelphia

The Inter American University of Puerto Rico is a vanguardist institution, founded in 1912. Throughout its 110 years of service, it has provided quality education with important accreditations from the United States, such as the Middle State Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, which was granted in 1944 and which we have maintained uninterruptedly since then.

Our institution holds strong Christian-ecumenical roots while providing post-secondary and higher education in the arts and sciences through teaching, research, and community service.

More than twenty-five years ago, we were pioneers in Puerto Rico and began to expand our horizons by integrating distance education into our curriculum. For more than two decades, our School of Optometry and some of our campuses, such as the Metropolitan Campus, have welcomed students from around the world. In 2007, we opened our center in Florida, and in 2017, we establish our study center in the City of Knowledge in Panama.

Through the Inter Philadelphia Education Center, we expanded our presence in the United States hand in hand with Taller Puertorriqueño to contribute to the professional future of our Latino community.
